Chicken Malai Curry By Coconut Milk

Chicken malai curry is one of the favourite dish all over India, particularly in Bengal including Bangladesh. Malai is usually the creamy parts of milk obtained from cow’s milk. But in Bengal, malai curry conventionally means coconut oil milk recipe, like prawn malai curry. Milk obtained from coconut gives a special flavours to the dishes and liked by everyone. Here the procedure and steps show in this video, how to cook chicken malai curry with coconut milk.

Ingredients:

Boneless chicken-500 gm

Coconut milk- from 1 coconut (see in a seperate video how to extract)

Onion paste- 2 medium size

Garlic paste- 1 tsf

Ginger paste- 1 tsf

Char magaz (4 sheed)- 1tsf

Cashew paste- 6 pc

Green cardamom- 4

Cinnamon- whole, break in to small size

Bay leaf-2

Red dry chilli-3

Green chilli-4

Soya/ white oil- 3 tbsf

Ghee- 1 tsf

Kashmiri chill powder-1 tsf

Rose water- 1 tsf

Salt- as per taste

Sugar- 1 tsf

How to prepare

Wash chicken- dry

Add: ginger

Add: garlic

Add: onion paste

Add: 4 seed paste

Add: cashew paste

Mix and keep for marinating- 1 hour

After 1 hour

Heat oil and ghee

Add cinnamon, cardamom, bay leaf and dry chilli and fry

Then, add marinated chicken

Mix well

Cover it for about 10 min- till water comes out

Then add Kashmiri chilli powder, sugar, salt and fry well till oil start to release.

Then add coconut milk and heat till the gravy become concentrated and greasy.

Add 1 tsf of Rose water for flavour and taste.

Stir and after sometimes your cooking is over.

Enjoy with Roti, Bread, and Rice and as you like.
